our agriculture programmes.

their potential.

Those with skills in areas other than our current focus
are very welcome to volunteer at BRIF as part of our short-term
Volunteer Action Programme. However, if your skills
and experience don't fit the above categories and you would still like to get
involved as a long-term volunteer, please get in touch and we can discuss whether
we are able to match you with our programmes.
Personal Qualities
Having the right personal skills is perhaps even more
important than your professional experience, as it is these that will help you to
settle in, make the most of your time with us, and ensure that your placement is
enjoyable and beneficial.
Long term volunteers need to be independent and
self-sufficient, and able to adapt to a local culture, rural location and basic
lifestyle which will probably be very different from what they are used to. They
need to feel comfortable living and working in a new environment and with new
people, and have the ability to work as part of the BRIF team, sharing their
skills and experience and being open to learning from others. Flexibility,
adaptability and resourcefulness are essential, but above all, our volunteers
need patience and a good sense of humour!
If this sounds like you, then please do consider joining
us as a volunteer - we would love to hear from you.
