Practical Details
Please see below for some practical details about volunteering with BRIF as well as the application procedure

Location
BRIF is situated 380km north of Dhaka, in Dinajpur district close to the Indian border (see "About Us" for a map). It is based in a rural area of stunning natural beauty in the village of Goaldihi, where volunteers are guaranteed a warm welcome from the locals.
On your arrival, a member of the BRIF staff will be happy meet you at Dhaka Zia airport and accompany you to the BRIF campus.
Accommodation
Long-term volunteers have their own room with bed, desk, mosquito net, fan, and private bathroom in the BRIF campus, just across the road from the office.
Food
BRIF will provide you with three delicious Bangladeshi meals per day in our canteen. Please let us know if you have any special dietary requirements and we will do our best to accommodate them.
Long-term volunteers also have a great little kitchen, giving you the option of preparing your own meals if you enjoy cooking or just feel like a change. It also provides you with an additional room in which you can relax in peace or with friends. It comes equipped with a gas stove, fridge-freezer, table, chairs, sink, kettle, crockery and cutlery.
Costs
Long-term volunteers contribute an enormous amount through their time, skills and experience, so we do everything we can to keep costs as low as possible. We do not make financial profit from our volunteers.
There is a one-off registration fee of US $250. This covers all the admin and preparation for your visit, including someone to meet you at the airport, a stop-over in Dhaka and your transport up to BRIF. It also covers the cost of the materials you will need for your work here, such as paper, pens, printing, etc, and all your transport as part of your work with us.
For US $5 a day, you will be served three delicious Bangladeshi meals. Your accommodation is just US $5 per day, which also includes all your electricity, water, bedding, etc.
And we don't ask you to pay the registration fee or food and accommodation costs until you have arrived and had a chance to meet us.
